PAR LE CORPS

SYNOPSIS

Two life stories: Fiona and Lohan, both afflicted by extreme emotional sensitivity. And dance, the universal catalyst that immerses the audience in their stories. Through her choreography, the dancer identifies and interprets both Fiona’s and Lohan’s personality disorders.

Then, she invites six volunteers from the audience to join her on stage to take part. Equipped with virtual reality headsets, they discover Fiona’s and Lohan’s stories through a reading of their diaries, from teenage years to adulthood, culminating with an encounter with another person who helps them to find their balance.

By playing and intermingling with the participants in VR, the dancer creates a live choreography, inviting the audience to join, and through it, liberate their bodies.

HIGHLIGHTS

PAR LE CORPS is a contemporary dance performance with advanced immersive technology in which the audience participates and interacts.

The story carries the audience through three stages of life, each linked to one of three types of immersion. The audience is initially guided by the dancer, led to dance in synchronicity with their virtual avatars. Each type of audience engagement reflects a progression of stories, with mutual openness and understanding leading to a final shared spontaneous choreography.

On stage, three to six participants are given the opportunity to explore different states of consciousness in a shared choreography in mixed reality. The dancer plays with and guides the participants with physical touch and sensory triggers in synchronization with the VR experience.

This mixed reality immersion offers progressive freedom of interaction, each form linked to a specific stage in the lives of the characters in conflict with their extreme emotions.
